Overview
Once students leave the security of school, whether for university, college or to enter the workplace for the first time, one thing is certain: they will have to learn the importance of finance!
For some they will have access to real money, that they have earned themselves, for the first time in their lives. Others will have to plan and budget how they are going to survive the financial perils of student loans at university.
“How do I get the money to have a good time and study?”
“Can I really afford the repayments on that new car?”
“Why did that new outfit cost me twice the price it said in the shop when I used their store card?”
BRIGHT FUTURES has developed Money Matters to ensure students have the opportunity to understand more about the world of personal finance, and awaken them to the fact that where there’s money, there’s responsibility.
The Money Matters half-day Programme is upbeat, informative, practical and enjoyable, featuring real-life situations and allowing students to make decisions for themselves, or suffer the consequences of their mistakes.
The Programme uses state of the art audiovisual equipment and is suitable for students right across the ability spectrum, from Gifted and Talented, through to less academically able.
The Money Matters Programme covers the following topics:-
APR, Stock Market, Personal Loans, Overdrafts, Risk and Assessment,
Mortgages, Cheques and Debit Cards, Credit Cards, Store Cards,Budgeting
This programme is always run by a professional presenter with first hand senior management experience.
Like all of our programmes, your staff are only required to facilitate and be on hand should we need to deal with any behavioural issues, the rest of the work can be left to us.
The format and timings of the programme will generally mirror your standard school day unless otherwise requested, to minimise disruption to the rest of the school.
All we require is some basic stationery, data projection equipment, a suitable room and we're good to go.
To give your students the opportunity to work with people that they may never have worked with before, we quickly and effectively split the students into non friendship working groups.
All modules are activity based and are supported with strong audio visuals creating a highly memorable event.
